International Peace & Wellbeing Convention in September

Press Release printed in 'Ipswich News Today'

Ivory’s Rock is hosting an International Peace and Wellbeing Convention, Amaroo 2022, from 5 – 9 September, 2022. It has been four years since the last international event at Ivory’s Rock with the pandemic disrupting events and both international and internal travel. Up to 3,000 delegates from 54 countries are expected to attend.
Ivory’s Rock has a policy of engaging staff and contractors from the local region wherever possible to help support the local economy. Staff recently appointed for the International Convention are the Purchasing Manager and Event Bookkeeper, both from the Scenic Rim Boonah area, as well as two Grounds Assistants, from Peak Crossing and Ipswich, Carpenters from Peak Crossing and a local Tent Set Up Crew. Other Services and Trades have been sourced from the Ipswich region, whilst the Harrisville Lions Club, as in other years, will manage parking for the event, which supports their fundraising.
Approximately half the delegates will stay onsite with the other half staying in accommodation within the Scenic Rim, Ipswich and Brisbane. Following the opening of registration for the event on 27 June much of the available accommodation in the region has already been booked out by delegates. Many also traditionally extend their stay after the event to explore the Scenic Rim and travel through wider Queensland.
The Guest Speaker at the event is Mr. Prem Rawat, internationally acclaimed Author of ‘Hear Yourself’ and developer of the Peace Education Program. Over the years Prem has addressed more than 15 million people at live events around the world including speaking engagements at the UN, UK and European Parliaments, the Italian Senate and leading universities and business forums. He was recently awarded the Keys to Avalon by the Glastonbury City Council, UK.
In past years the International Convention has provided a very welcome increase to the local economy. It is expected that this year’s Convention will once again inject a boost into the local tourism economy, with about 1500 delegates spending on accommodation and shopping in the region.
Ivory’s Rock is delighted to once again be hosting this International Convention, welcoming delegates from Australia and around the world to spend time in nature, relaxing and enjoying some time out from their busy lives to explore their own inner resources.
