Planning for Amaroo 2025 felt, at times, like running a launch countdown!
We began late in 2024, still deep in the Amaroo 2024 cycle and as the year rolled over, some volunteers stepped away while a smaller, focused project team continued.
When we reached out to Area Managers to check availability for 2025, the response came back strong. Their experience, willingness and enthusiasm gave the year early momentum.
From there, the Amaroo Ready Team (ART) took shape with Area Managers participating from four continents, each bringing skills, knowledge and ownership to the many components required to build Amaroo from nothing into something.
Running an Amaroo event means building a temporary city. We plan for thousands of people, all ages, all situations and we work to ensure onsite and offsite guests stay safe, supported and comfortable.
Local staff and global volunteers step into this challenge every year, and once again they delivered, pulling together an environment where people could focus, participate and enjoy five days of clarity and self-discovery with Prem.
As the event neared, project members moved from planning mode to active delivery, much like a crew shifting from the control room to the launch pad. Our strategy set two clear goals: welcome guests well, and support the people who make the event work.
We paid special attention to
early-arrival volunteers (about 150 of them) who came in the weeks leading up to the event. They used the newly equipped campground kitchens before catering went live.
We hoped that supporting this team would flow directly into how well they supported others. Their groundwork created a strong foundation for what followed.
Volunteers, staff and suppliers worked as one team, and many long-time team members commented that this was one of the best-run Amaroo events they had worked on.
As the Project Manager for 2025, I would like to say a sincere thankyou to every volunteer, staff member, contractor, sponsor and attendee. Each contribution mattered and combined they created something wonderful.
